I downloaded the fonts, hard refreshed, even created a monobook page, but it doesn't work. Oh by the way you can change namespaces via special: namespaces. But can you help me with the first one? Smiddle 15:45, 27 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)

Don't forget the undersores in talk namespaces and such! Smiddle 15:57, 27 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
  • What you have to do is install the font, restart your computer(sometimes just restarting the browser will work) after installing the fonts, and then if all goes well, the Gothic script will appear - you do not need to change the font because the OS already knows that that's the only font that can view this character range. At least that's how it works on Windows. On Linux you just move the fonts to the proper fonts directory and restart your browser. I don't know about Mac OS, however.--Jacques Pirat 21:02, 27 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
I installed the font, hard refreshed, restarded my browser, hard refreshed, ate a sandwich, restarted the computer and hard refreshed but it didn't work. When I'm looking closer at the skeirs font, I can see that it's actually the Latin alphabet range written with Gothic style characters. Smiddle 21:25, 27 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
  • I'll upload a pic of this font in action(Both capital letters in latin alphabet range and all letters in gothic range are same). It seems odd that it isn't working. Are you on Windows 9x? 9x doesn't really like using Wulfias's characters. Neither does internet explorer - it simply does not support it even in UTF-8 mode. However Opera, Firefox, Seamonkey and most other browsers should support it. --Jacques Pirat 21:34, 27 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
I use IE7 on Windows XP (forgot if professional or home edition), but I'll try with FireFox then. Smiddle 08:18, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
Well, I can't complain about squares anymore, but still... Smiddle 08:39, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
And since those characters mean A in Gothic, it's kinda ironic after all... but what is Wulfias? Smiddle 08:43, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
Wulfia(or Ulfias) is the guy who made the Gothic Alphabet. Anyways, is firefox displaying the page in UTF-8 or something else? The only browsers I have found to have any troubles displaying gothic characters are IE and Lynx. Firefox, Seamonkey, and Opera at least support it, even if by default firefox reverts to vulcanius rather than skeirs unless specified. Check in regional settings under the Languages tab/details advanced tab and see if the first check box is turned off. It might be causing the problems. --Jacques Pirat 13:50, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
I can't find any such tab Smiddle 16:28, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
If the advanced tab in the "Text Services and Input Languages" window brought up when you click the details button in the "Text services" frame of the Languages tab in the Regional settings control panel applet is unavailable, something is wrong, or you have Windows XP Home(which I have not used, so I don't know how it operates). There is also a check box in the languages tab that allows you to use eastern language fonts. It might be able to give you the ability to use supplimentary Unicode characters. --Jacques Pirat 19:34, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
Eastern? Gothic is a Germanic language, so I just thought... well, Wikipedia has a list of Gothic fonts, I'll try some of them. Smiddle 19:42, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)
Yes, Gothic is a Germanic language. However, like eastern languages it uses the higher Unicode values that most fonts do not render. --Jacques Pirat 23:00, 28 πŒ°π€π‚πŒΉπŒ»πŒ° 2007 (UTC)

Any luck? --Jacques Pirat 21:33, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

No... Smiddle 12:20, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Try these Settings. 19:25, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
Now it works. I didn't even do anything. Smiddle 20:14, 22 𐌼𐌰𐌹 2007 (UTC)
